Meet Our Directors

Gurpreet Singh Gill and Harpreet Kaur Gill are both the owners and founders of Gill Summer Camp Inc. established in 2004. They live in Springdale with their three wonderful children, Kudhrit Singh, Harleen Kaur and Ishrit Singh. Gurpreet and Harpreet have both been teaching within the Peel Board of Education for over 20 years. Many students within the Peel Board may know them as Mr. and Mrs. Gill. With many years of experience inside and outside of the classroom, their energy, passion and knowledge of the industry helps them lead their staff with purpose and motivation!

“Sending your child to summer camp is no small decision and we know that all too well. We understand that many Punjabi families may not necessarily need day camp as they have grandparents to supervise their children throughout the summer. However, having raised 3 children ourselves, we have seen first hand the importance of keeping kids busy. We know that every parent wants their child to mature, learn to persevere, develop interpersonal skills, take a break from technology and unwind from the stress of negative peer pressure and social media and we are here to help. For those that know us from the community, they know that Sikhi plays a big part in our lives. We have always tried our best to expose our campers to Sikhi and Punjabi in a kid-friendly way, giving them the basic knowledge of our Guru’s and their teachings. We hope that you will trust Gill Summer Camp to be a part of your child’s lives”

Our Staff

Our staff understands our camp culture and vision, which sets us apart from other day camp providers. Academics, athletics, and attitude!  Well rounded, mature and enthusiastic staff along with unique programming leads to a truly memorable experience for each camper.  Many of our staff members have been a part of GSC either as a camper or volunteer in the past.  We believe this establishes an environment where campers and counselors alike are eager to meet each other year after year as they create lasting summer memories!

Our staff is highly educated, enthusiastic, and motivated. We pride ourselves in extensively training our entire staff so that they have leadership skills, understanding of group dynamics, empathy and the tools to provide an outstanding experience for your child. We have camp counsellors who lead each group of campers throughout the day, like a homeroom teacher who really gets to know your child and is responsible for their overall supervision. We also have specialized staff who lead our Gurmat Class, Punjabi Class, Indoor Sports activities, Arts and Crafts activities and the Xbox/Board Games room. These staff members are very passionate about the activity they teach, with the hope being that this interest transfers over to each camper.

Our Volunteers

Gill Summer Camp would not be complete without our volunteers. Past campers or older siblings of current campers are given the opportunity to volunteer with GSC. Our volunteers are mature teens (must be at least 15 years old) with an interest and aptitude in leadership, sports, culture, art and more.  Volunteering in an excellent way to gain leadership skills, obtain work experience, work with children and youth, and make new friends all while having fun at the same time!

Volunteers are paired up with camp counselors and participate in scheduled placements in a variety of areas at camp. Not only can volunteers earn their community involvement hours needed for high school graduation, they can take part in all the fun our camp provides! These future Gill Summer Camp leaders receive a valuable foundation under the supervision of our most experienced camp staff.
